Every now and again, or every week without fail? If it’s the latter, maybe you should think about moving on… But lots of people find themselves in the situation where they’re not ready to move jobs just yet – perhaps because they’ve only been in the role a short time, or because they want to gain more experience. So if you find yourself in the situation where you’re in a job that is okay but not brilliant, or that you really need to see through for a period of time, what can you do to make it more interesting and - dare we say it – more fun?

Here are some suggestions:

Positive Thinking

Focus on the positives – what do you really like about your job (come on, there must be something)? How could you incorporate more of that into your working day? Remind yourself of the other positive aspects of your work – your friends and colleagues, for instance.

Challenge Yourself

Find new challenges. One of the reasons that we can get restless in our job is, quite simply, boredom. Think about ways in which you could make your role more interesting. Perhaps you could volunteer to mentor new staff, or spend some time every week shadowing people in other departments to get a broader perspective on the business? Discuss your ideas with your manager.

Flexible Working

Is there scope for you to work more flexibly? Working from home one day a week, for example, could give you more variety. This is not an excuse to get up late and lie around watching daytime TV, though – you’ll need to be able to show some output for your time away from the office! Again, discuss the options with your manager.

Learn More

If you feel you’re not being stimulated enough mentally, consider doing some training or a course that is work-related: it will give you new insights, help to keep you fresh, and will be a useful addition to your CV when you are ready to move on.

Network

Network more. If meeting new people is not already part of your role, find ways to incorporate it. Meeting people and getting fresh perspectives can help you to keep yourself interested and interesting. If there don’t seem to be many networking opportunities where you are, create some! Organize a team outing, or arrange for you and your colleagues to meet up with staff from another part of the company.

Have Some Fun

Inject a bit of fun into your workplace. That could be as simple as croissants on a Monday morning or a team drink on Friday afternoon. Or it could be a more structured social event. Your work colleagues don’t have to be your bosom buddies, but you’ll enjoy your working day much more if there’s a bit of banter and humour around. Just because your work is a serious business doesn’t mean you can’t have fun while you do it!

Improve Your Social Life

Make an effort to do more interesting things outside of work. If your working week consists of getting up in the morning, going to work, coming home, having dinner, slumping in front of the TV and then going to bed, your job is going to have a disproportionate impact on your overall mood. Try to fit a couple of social engagements into your week – a dancing class or an art exhibition, perhaps, or just a catch-up with friends you haven’t seen for a while. Having something to look forward to during the week will help to make it more bearable.

Prioritise Your Workload

If you find that your problem is you’re working such long hours that you don’t have time to have fun outside work, let alone in the office, you need to tackle this. Get used to prioritizing your workload – negotiate extensions to deadlines if necessary – and make yourself leave the office on time at least 3 nights a week. Most of us have periods when we’re extra-busy and end up working long hours, but if this is happening to you routinely, you need to get out of that rut.

Mind Management

Mind Management is what happens when
YOU learn how to THINK and use your mind to control thoughts,
and control the events in your life.
So why will Mind Management improve your life?

The thoughts we choose to accept into our conscious mind are what trigger our
emotions and feelings which then trigger our physical actions that our bodies
carry out on command.

What we do in action today gets us the results we have tomorrow.

So if you are unhappy with any results that you have in your life
then you may want to get back to the basics and start to
look at the way you are thinking.

Studying one's thought process and making these changes is not easy. We are programmed at
a very young age to think in a very patterned way. These patterns are based
on our beliefs and things that we were taught to put our faith in.

So to really control your thoughts you need to embrace a journey of personal development.

If this is something you need in your life please send us an email and sign up for a
one-on-one FREE consultation.

We have a variety of ways we can work with you from personal
one-on-one consultations to group sessions and also self-help audio programs.

Don't wait till tomorrow to fix that uneasy feeling you have today.

The goal of life is to live it to the fullest today.

Rain Rain Come Again.....

HI all,

I am really sorry that i was not able to update my blog from a long time. I was busy travelling everywhere hence was unable to post any new article. Well i am in nagpur now and no one

will belive that the temperature here is very high, but fortunately it rained today and now the weather is cool.

Everyone was soo happy that finally rain is showing

some mercy on every Nagpurian and

helping them out to beat the heat. I was out in my gallery, enjoying hot cup of Chai in this rain and i was very happy to see small cute kids playing and dancing in the rain. It was so exciting that at a moment i felt like going and enjoying with them. When you talk first, you lock yourself into a position or path. But if you listen, you gain far more information.

2) Problems create opportunities:- Your biggest and best opportunities to make a difference will always be when things go wrong. How you respond in time of crisis, when somebody needs you, is a window into your true capability. And that spells opportunity if you rise to the occasion.

3) It’s all about relationships:- There are no companies or businesses, just people. class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(255, 255, 255);">So you want to be successful in life? Is that what you want? Then you better stop failing and become aware of these 10 ways to fail in life.

I've been asked many times for how to achieve success and weird enough, seems like nobody's taking that advice seriously. Then I realized one thing - most people are ALREADY failing before they even get started!

This article is not like the normal goodie-goodie personal development advice as it is the TRUTH. If I have to write only good things, keep everyone happy, write about rainbow, flowers blooming, birds chirping then I better start a nursery school and take care of children. I just want to tell you the TRUTH as I know how people dump garbage in name of SUCCESS MANTRA.

Avoid these and you'll automatically be on the right track (provided you want to be successful)…

1) Joining the LOSER’S Club:

This is the guaranteed way to fail in life. Losers are the people who will always tell you that this won’t work out. They will just sit there and keep commenting rather than doing anything. They just don’t accept change and want others also not to change. So from now onwards if you see any of these qualities in a person, you know what you need to do. Always remember one thing “To know something is GOOD, But to DO something is GOD™”.

2) Not Knowing What You Want:

If you ask anyone what is there goal then the most common answer will me “to become rich”. Its fine to be rich but the question is “how rich you want to be”? Or how Rich is Rich? There is a difference in making 1Million and 10000RS. No wonder most people can’t achieve what they want because the effort they put in there work is only for 10000Rs but they wish to generate 1Million out of the same effort, which is completely pointless. Hence if you want to achieve Big the efforts also must be Big. In short “ IF you want BIG, then Think BIG and Do BIG™”.

3) Wanting Everything:

It’s really nice to have everything, but if you wish for everything at same time then you get nothing. The time you got is limited and you cannot constantly focus on many things at same time. Getting anything should be a step by step procedure. Then only one fine day you will get everything.

4) Relay on Others:

This can hit the charts at top position. Whatever happen, let it be a small thing or big, easy or hard, try to do everything by yourself. Don’t expect anyone to help us. Also never relay on others. Do things by your own.

5) Not knowing why you want SUCCESS:

Wanting everything is bad enough, but it’s even worse if you don’t know the reason why you are trying to achieve your goal. What's the deal? Without a solid reason, a compelling reason, where are you going to find the motivation and encouragement for you to overcome obstacles? You think it's going to be fun ride to success? Then you haven't been traveling - it's a rocky road, my friend. Most people failed to achieve their goals because they never complete the journey– they give up half way (or at the beginning) because they cannot see the worth of accomplishments.

6) Not remembering your Roots:

It’s a common scene that those who got success in there life never feel gratitude towards those who has helped them. Is it so hard to say Thank You? Remember Newton’s law? Every action has its equal and opposite reaction. Always follow this low even in your real life. Always return the favor to those who has helped you in past, and maybe they will help you again in the future. It’s the law of LIFE.

7) Thinking only you are Smart:

The day you stop learning is the day you stop improving yourself. If you want to keep improving in life then make sure you stop acting like you know everything. The fact is all successful people are successful because they continuously learned to be even more successful. Always remember “The more you know, the more you know, what you don’t know.”

8) Listening to Wrong People:

Let me explain this with an example. A boy was high fever so he didn’t go to school. In the evening few of his friends came to visit him. One of them was a son of doctor; he suggested him to take bath in ice chilled water and thus convinced him that by doing this his temperature will go away. The boy did this and rest I don’t need to tell you. So always listen to the right person. It’s always better to ask twice or thrice to the right persons than asking the wrong ones.

9) Always thinking Short Term:

You'll hear this happening often in many 'successful' people's stories – make a lot of money to lose it all. This probably because they became too comfortable and the other thing is, once you achieve success, you should ride on the wave when the momentum is there. When you think short term, you're only going after the instant pleasure. You must learn to master ‘delay gratification' so that you can enjoy your today's labor.

10) You're Blind To What Is Important In Life:

I believe there are only two things that are important in your life – control of time and experiencing happiness. Money, love, big cars, diamonds, etc are the things that contribute to these two benchmarks of successes. For instance, if you have money, you don't need to work so that you can have more time to do the things you like. It's not the money that you're trying to get but what the money CAN DO FOR YOU. I know this topic is bigger than one sentence explanation but I guess you get the point.

So now you know the 10 ways to fail in life. Question is, are you doing any of these? I'll be BS'ng you if I said I don't. People seem to have no manners when talking on their phones.
Personally, I do not care to hear another person's conversation. If I'm having dinner alone in a restaurant, I believe I am having more fun than a family whose parent (usually the Father) is interrupted by a call and does not tell the caller about the personal family time he's having but continues to talk on the phone.
Of course, it's not my business. I have no idea the understanding that exists between those family members. I do know the call is about business because people tend to talk extremely loud when talking on their mobile phones. That really annoys me.

I have addressed my leisure time away from the workplace where I have observed others and their inconsideration to the general public. At the workplace, impoliteness and rudeness to others when on the phone or not, is totally unacceptable from employees.
I find it extremely difficult minding my own business when I hear conversations employees have with customers, clients or patients.

Every connection an employee has with a customer, patient, client (or potential one) is vital to the profits of any company. I therefore offer to you, 20 Telephone Etiquette for Businesses Tips.

I'm aware many of these tips are common sense yet I'm also aware common sense is not very common, oftentimes.

20 Telephone Etiquette Tips for Customer Service

1. Make sure you speak clearly and are smiling as you answer the phone; also identify yourself.

2. Before placing a caller on hold, ask their permission first and thank them.

3. It is better to return a call than to keep someone on hold too long. If the phone rings back to you, you've kept them on hold too long.

4. Do not forget to return the call as you promised.

5. Do not permit the phone to ring into the office more than three times.

6. Always use a pleasant, congenial and friendly tone.

7. Never interrupt the person while he/she is talking to you.

8. Never engage in an argument with a caller.

9. Do not handle an unhappy caller's concern openly at the checkin/checkout desk.

10. Do not make it a habit of receiving personal calls at work.

11. Do not answer the phone if you are eating or chewing gum.

12. Do not give the impression that you are rushed. It is better to return the call when you can give the person the time they need to handle the reason for their call.

13. Learn how to handle several callers simultaneously with ease and grace.

14. Return calls promptly that have been left on voice mail and ansafones.

15. Always get the best number (and an alternate) and the best time to have a call returned to the caller, especially if a manager or another team member must return the call.

16. Do not ever leave a message with someone else or on an ansafone or voice mail regarding details of a delinquent account. Instead, leave a message asking the person to call the "Accounting Department."

17. Always make collection calls in private and away from the patient flow or public areas.

18. If possible, provide a telephone for patients/customers/clients to use. An area providing privacy is preferred.

19. Do not call a patient, customer or client's home before 8:00AM or after 9:00PM, unless they've given you permission to do so.

20. When hanging up the phone, make sure the caller or person called hangs up first if the phone is slammed on the receiver. Otherwise, always hang up the phone, gently.
I recommend a remote, handless headset for the business staff. They are wonderful. This will solve hanging up as you push release on the headset to hang up the phone. Also, it does not tie your staff to their desk. The team member checking on insurance really appreciates this device. (The phone can also be answered if away from your desk.)

If a tip does not apply to you or your business, I commend you. If even one does, I encourage you to begin immediately to eliminate it.

Regards,

Yuvraj Kewate,

Nagpur,

India.

Finally CAT is now just a “Click” away!!!

Hi Friends,

Ending weeks of Speculations, finally IIM has decided to conduct Common Entrance Test (CAT) ONLINE from November 2009.Now students just have to click and these clicks will decide there future of getting into IIMs. This online move will bring changes, but internet-age students seem comfortable with the idea.

As the exam will be online, all students cannot appear at a time for the test. The test will be taken in batches with in period of few months. Though the Online model will be similar to the US Exams like the GMAT, the results will not be announced instantly. This online move will help the IIMs to easily handle huge numbers of students appearing for exams every year. Last year around 2.3lakh students appeared for the test and this year the digit is expected to cross 3lakhs.

There will be issues regarding to connectivity and strictness and to maintain same level of difficulty for each set. Or a keen hiker. You still cannot treat your interview like a careless morning trot along a jogger's path. Your jaw-jaw at the interview table is nothing less than a cautious climb up a mountain trail--which begins around your early childhood and meanders through the years at the academia before reaching a new summit in your career. And as you retrace your steps down memory lane make sure that you post flags at important landmarks of your life and career, so that you can pop them before the interview panel scoops them out of you. You don't want to be at the receiving end, do you?

Face the panel, but don't fall of the chair in a headlong rush-and-skid attempt to tell your story. Take one step at a time. Here are a few preparation tips from the Team of Freshersworld.com that books on interviews sometimes overlook. Remember, as a fresher you do not have anything to loose but to gain.

TYPICAL QUESTIONS THAT AN INTERVIEWER WOULD ASK

1.Tell me about yourself

The most often asked question in interviews. You need to have a short statement prepared in your mind. Be careful that it does not sound rehearsed. Limit it to work/Study-related items unless instructed otherwise. Talk about things you have done well at your college and how you wanted to perform in the first job.

2. Why Should We Employ You?

For this question, your answer should list out strengths that you feel are relevant to the job. Given below are some answers which could help you with your answers. However, structure them to suit your requirements.

I have good co-ordination skills

Good analytical skills

I can persuade people to see my point of view, and get the work done

My greatest asset is my ability to motivate people

Even during emergencies, I do not loose my cool

I have good entrepreneurial skills

I have consistently met my deadlines and targets

Can say “no” to people when required to do so!

I am very co-operative with my sub-ordinates, and would like to see them grow

I am a good team player

I am very flexible, and have the ability to work hard under difficult work conditions

I have the experience and knowledge relevant to this job (Here, give appropriate details and examples)

3. Do You Have Offers From Other Companies ?

This is of course a difficult question to answer. Obviously, you must have applied to other companies if you are looking for a job or would have some offers from other companies already. Therefore, do not lie that you have not. However, you are on thin ice here! The interviewer could be checking your honesty. On the other hand, he/she may also be trying to find out how focused you are - are you applying randomly, or is there a well-planned strategy?

Whatever your answer, it should match your career goals.

4. What Salary Are You Expecting?

Try not to get into salary details early in the interview. If pressed, you could say that it all depends on the job, and would like to talk about it after a job offer. Say this in a convincing tone. In case you are asked this question in your latter interviews, give a direct answer. Do not sound apologetic while quoting the figure you have in mind.

SALARY EXPECTATIONS :

1. How much do you expect?

If you have done your homework, you would know how much other people in similar jobs are paid. Quote the range upfront.

2. How much do you think you are worth?

Work out how much you should be paid, given the market value of the job and your skills. If you can bring some extra skills to the table, do not hesitate to ask for more than the market value.

3. What kind of a culture are you comfortable with?

It is better to be frank about your preferences. Your interviewer will get a clear idea about your expectations.

4. Which is more important to you-salary, perks or growth opportunities?

This one will reveal the real you. So be sure what you are going to say. Above all, be true to yourself. If you think this is a negotiation move, then say clearly that you will never sell yourself short.

5. What do you know about our company?

Do not give your opinions about the company. Stick to reported facts that you have gathered from newspapers and so on. Talk about the product portfolio, size, income, and market perceptions of the company. Also it is better to refer details about each company before going for the interview from Freshersworld.com or PlacementWeek.com

6. Why should we choose you over someone else?

Talk clearly about problems that you have solved in your College/Project Team and highlight the quality required.

6. Your qualifications are excellent, but you may be overqualified for the position we have to offer?

Point out that more experience can never be a drawback. If you are multi-skilled, then highlight the fact that a company on the fast-track needs multi-skilled people. It needs people within different departments to work together. Also emphasise that the company's future growth will be an exponential function of your experience.

QUESTIONS YOU SHOULD ASK :

Interviewers usually round off by giving you an opportunity to ask questions. Treat it like a welcome opportunity.

You could ask questions like.

a) Tell me about your company.

b) Now that I have outlined my career goals, do you think you can offer me the opportunities I need?

c) What kind of training and learning can I expect in your company?

d) Describe the work culture and the management style of your company?

e) What is the long-term vision of your company?

As a fresher, current position and status can impact the way you are interviewed. Fresh Out of College

The basis on which you will be judged is your academic background, family background, and interests.

If looking for your first job, ensure that your previous experience, even if it is part-time, is noticed.

Mention projects or responsibilities you may have undertaken. This will indicate your area of aptitude.

You should be willing to put in regular hours, in line with the company's policies. The interviewer needs to know whether you can be punctual and put in full-time work.

In case you have applied for the post of management trainee, you should display an ability to adapt, and indicate all-round interests. Moreover, you should have good interpersonal skills.

You should be enthusiastic to learn, and show commitment towards the organization, as the company will be spending a lot on your training.

Bring with you :

a) Copies of your resumes

b) References and letters of recommendations.

First Impressions :

There is a common saying that minds are made up within the first 5 minutes of an interview. So keep in mind these important first impression indicators. Walk in the door as if you already work there, carry yourself as though you feel perfectly comfortable with the situation. Arrive on time or a little early. In the waiting area, politely tell the receptionist who you are meeting and in a friendly way, ask where you should sit. Take slow, deep breaths to help you remain calm and focused. When introduced to the interviewer, have a firm, but not painful, handshake. Smile. Have good posture when sitting or standing. Introduce yourself in a relaxed, confident manner. Have a well-groomed, professional appearance. Project a feeling of confidence. Bring extra copies of your resume, some thing to write on and something to write with.

DBRANDS CORP. wish you all the best of luck in your Job Interview !

Regards,
Yuvraj Kewate,
Nagpur,
India.

“A 100Day Plan to Review Economy”, says PM.

HI All,

In one of his recent interviews with TOI current PM Manmohan Singh said that “If I am voted back as PM I will review economy in 100days by adding greater zip to the stimulus packages and by tackling job losses, just let me be back in power and this crisis will go away”.

This is what Mr. PM is saying now after being in power form more than 1500days and now in only 100days things will go back to normal.
